With production of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution over, it is difficult to find a near-new example on the market that meets a true rev head’s search criteria. However, we have stumbled upon the near-impossible and far better than being a barely-driven Evo X, what we have here is actually the desirable 2006 Evo IX MR.

Listed by South Coast Mitsubishi on eBay, this Evo has been kept in pristine condition since being delivered over a decade ago and has a mere 9 miles on the clock. What’s more, it still has plastic on the seats and pedals and an engine bay that looks like it just left the factory.

When originally delivered, the car had a sticker price of $37,094 and its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers 286 hp and 289 lb-ft of torque. Those figures may be down on current performance car standards but in a straight line, a well-kept Evo IX MR can comfortably keep up with the 350 hp Ford Focus RS.

At the time of writing, the car had 44 bids and the highest was sitting on $100,700, a frankly ridiculous sum considering this isn’t even the limited-edition FQ 400 model.
