Alfa Romeo announced the range and pricing details of the new Stelvio SUV for the UK market.

After making its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last month, the all-new Alfa Romeo Stelvio is being launched with a 2017 exclusive version, called Milano Edizione.

The Italian SUV will be available in four trim levels starting this September: Stelvio, Super, Speciale, plus the aforementioned and limited Milano Edizione.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Milano Edizione builds on the Speciale trim and adds things like leather seats, a 10 speaker Sound Theatre, 20-inch V-Spoke alloy wheels, keyless entry and an Athermic windscreen. Other features include privacy glass with black gloss window surround, electrically adjustable and heated front seats and a rear-view camera.

UK customers will be offered two engine options at launch, including a 210hp 2.2-liter diesel and a 280hp 2.0-liter petrol unit, both of them paired with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive as standard. Alfa Romeo claims that the 280hp petrol version of the Stelvio offers best-in-class acceleration, with 0-62mph (100 km/h) in 5.7 seconds and a 143mph (230 km/h) top speed. Fuel economy is rated at a combined 40.4mpg UK (7 liters/100km) and CO2 emissions set at 161g/km.

The 210hp diesel version is of course more frugal, achieving a combined 58.9mpg UK (4.8 liters/100km) and emitting 127g/km of CO2. Performance though remains strong, with 0-62mph (100 km/h) coming in 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 134mph (215 km/h). Starting from September, customers will be able to order a 180hp version of the 2.2-liter diesel engine with either all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive, and a 200hp 2.0-liter petrol version with all-wheel drive as standard.

First cars will arrive in showrooms this September, with prices starting from £33,990 for the 180hp diesel rear-wheel drive version, and £34,690 for the 200hp petrol all-wheel drive model.
