Penning a new Rolls-Royce Phantom while maintaining its trademark design is not an easy task, but this rendering might be onto something.

Described as a 2050 model by Matthew Parsons, who posted it on Behance, the CGIs look pretty much spot on, with the instantly recognizable front end dominated by the specific grille and slender headlights, and a dual-tone paintwork.

The artist has drawn inspiration from the brand’s Vision Next 100 Concept, which debuted last year to honor the BMW Group’s centenary, with its futuristic design, fully autonomous driving, and a zero-emission electric powertrain, as the brand itself said that internal combustion engines are unlikely to survive in the future.

Rolls-Royce won’t be waving goodbye to the V12 for now, as the next generation is expected to use a re-worked version of the current 6.75-liter unit. The engine will become more powerful and will also keep up with the times by being more fuel efficient.

Speaking of the new generation Rolls-Royce Phantom, it is believed to be unveiled in 2018, with an evolutionary design, a completely new cabin, and some of BMW’s latest driver assistance systems, all of which will make the brand’s flagship saloon the preferred chauffeur’s drive of choice once again.
