Bugatti Chiron Rockets To 400 Km/h In 32.6 Seconds

Bugatti has still yet to release the Chiron’s top speed but shortly after showing the hypercar sprinting to 300 km/h, it has released another clip of the Veyron successor seamlessly rocketing to 400 km/h.

Zero to 300 km/h (186 mph) is dispatched in just 13.1 seconds but the Chiron needs an additional 19.5 seconds to race from 300 km/h to 400 km/h (249 mph). Even still, that makes for a 0-400 km/h time of 32.6 seconds, a feat which deserves ferocious applause.

The key contributor in the Chiron’s ferocious acceleration is its earth-shattering powertrain consisting of an 8.0-liter W16 engine dominated by four turbochargers and delivering 1,479 hp (1,500 PS) and 1,180 lb-ft (1,600 Nm) of torque from just 2,000 rpm.

The French automaker is widely expected to attempt a top speed run in the Chiron in 2018 and if no tire issues arise, many expect to see the speedometer needle peak at around 280 mph (450 km/h).
