If you’re going to measure yourself against somebody while driving a high-power luxury car, an Audi R8 V10 is as good as a choice as any.

Granted, this is the first-generation R8 V10 Coupe, which is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 unit, good for 525 PS (517 HP) and 530 Nm (390 lb-ft) of torque. Add everything together and you get from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds.

In the other corner, or should way say the “underdog”, is a brand new Porsche Panamera Turbo, sending no less than 550 PS (542 HP) towards all four wheels, while also flexing 770 Nm (567 lb-ft) of torque.

From a standstill, the Panamera Turbo needs 3.8 seconds to hit 100 km/h (62 mph), although this straight line battle features a rolling start, which in theory should benefit the Porsche since it’s packing a lot more torque.

In the end, the best thing we could say about this race is that it was remarkably competitive from beginning to end, which is a huge positive for the Panamera since it’s heavier than the R8 by over 300 kg (661 lbs).
