We’ll give you a hint, it looks like a smaller Arteon, bar the sleeker coupe profile.

Inspired by the Passat CC’s more upscale replacement, and the alleged recent leaks that hit the web last month, Kleber Silva has imagined what the new Volkswagen Jetta might look like.

Now, we’re not sure if the bold front end, dominated by yards of chrome, will be carried over to the compact car, but what we can tell you is that the Jetta will finally transition to the MQB architecture, when it debuts at the end of the year.

Its underpinnings will be shared with the Golf Mk7, among other vehicles made by the Volkswagen Group, and it will allow the new Jetta to be equipped with a wide assortment of petrol and diesel engines. It could also adopt some electrified powertrains, as it will continue to challenge the likes of the Toyota Corolla.

Lesser models are expected to be offered with front-wheel drive, while better-equipped and more powerful grades might even benefit from a four-wheel drive system.
