Infiniti has just dropped the first teaser images of its upcoming 2018 QX80, which is set to make its debut at the Dubai International Motor Show on November 14.

Just as we expected, the new generation QX80 looks heavily inspired by the QX80 Monograph Concept that was first seen at this year’s New York Auto Show.

The company’s large SUV is set to adopt the concept’s fluid styling, retaining features like the shape of the front grille and that of the headlights as portrayed in these images.

These changes are destined to make the new QX80 a much more attractive proposition than its predecessor, whose bulky exterior design didn’t win many fans. However and despite the all-new design, Infiniti is reportedly going to keep the existing platform as the basis of the new QX80, as well as the same powertrain.

This should mean that the new 2018 Infiniti QX80 will be powered by a 5.6-liter V8 with 400hp and 413lb-ft of torque. The interior will be overhauled, packing all the bells and whistles you would expect from a vehicle of this class, using some of the finest materials available.

“The QX80 brings a new commanding presence with powerful muscularity and enhanced horizontal movement,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Senior Vice President of Nissan’s Global Design. “Our designers raised the visual height of our iconic double arch grille and signature headlamps striking an unmistakable road presence.”
