Everything on the Chevrolet SS seemed just perfect but unfortunately the last manual naturally-aspirated V8 sedan was escorted out of production.

Despite the Chevrolet SS receiving all the praise from the press, this Australian-built four-door sports car failed to get the attention of the audience, selling just 12,000 units in four years of market presence.

Power comes from a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 with 415hp, paired to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The chassis featured active dampers, a limited slip differential and a refreshingly honest driving character.

Ok, it may looked like a rental Malibu to some people but that’s what made the SS a true sleeper, with only the loud Corvette soundtrack of the V8 revealing the true nature of the car.

Doug DeMuro takes us for a tour around the unloved but greatly appreciated 2017 Chevrolet SS on the video that follows.
