Alpine A110 And A Dozen New Cars Added To Gran Turismo Sport

Gamers looking for a little extra action out of Gran Turismo Sport will be pleased to discover that developers at Polyphony Digital have released a new update, featuring awesome new (virtual) machinery to enjoy in the driver’s equivalent of cyberspace.

Joining the driving simulator in this latest update are both the old and new versions of the Alpine A110 – the classic 1600S model from 1972, and the revived Premiere Edition released last year. But the two French sports cars represent just the tip of the digital iceberg here.

The programmers have also added (in chronological order) the 1970 Dodge Challenger, 1971 De Tomaso Pantera, 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1, 1988 Toyota Supra 3.0GT Turbo A, 1997 Toyota MR2 GT-S, 2007 Audi R8 4.2 FSI R Tronic, and 2011 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, as well as the 2016 Subaru WRX STI Isle of Man Time Attack car, the 2017 Turn 14/Falken Tire Subaru BRZ racer, and the game’s own unique old-school F1500T-A grand prix-style single-seater.

As if that’s not enough, now we have two new infield layouts for the ficticious Blue Moon Bay Speedway, along with three new events: the beginner Stars & Stripes showdown, amateur Vision Gran Turismo Trophy, and professional F1500 Championship.

The new content comes as part of Update 1.13, which also includes some behind-the-scenes improvements and fixes. You can check them all out in the gallery below, and download them now to your console. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have a PlayStation to boot up, a phone to power down, and some time to waste this weekend.

GT Sport is a fantastic game, but the range of cars available is really dim and lacking some important models and tracks… well, tracks are so few it is almost embarrassing. I know they are a small firm, but they are playing with the big ones. They need to step up their game…literally.

    • That’s why they keep doing this updates for free, basically time scheduling and pressure from SOny make them to release early. And to avoid fan anger they rebrand it as GT Sport, while this is in fact, Gran Turismo 7.

But I can’t wait the updates that will come, we could get as many as 200 cars for few years.

I hope so. The cars they add are truly good, but the tracks… eh, not so much. We’re still lacking things like Spa, Fuji, Circuit de la Sarthe and a whole bunch of those oh-so-arcade original tracks (Grand Valley, Cape Ring etc.).

        • Yeah the track is still pretty much limited, I do hope with Playstation resources they can complete the selections again.

But yeah the car is still quite sad either.

  • My current gripe with GT Sport is their classification, for example Panter is in N300 class, which also had cars like Audi R8…. And the race car is in Gr. X which is also contained VGT cars who has 1000hp plus specs…

But nevertheless the update is good, the car is detailed and most importantly. GT no longer has vacuum cleaner exhaust. Now the car sounds distinct and unique.

Also a bit of FYI. The Falken BRZ is a drifting car, compete in D1GP.

FYI again…..That BRZ drift car is for the Formula Drift and not D1GP why? That’s Dai Yoshihara’s car and he competes there recently
