Check Out Volvo’s New V60 Wagon From The Geneva Show Floor

Under Geely’s ownership, Volvo is flourishing, with a widening range of vehicles in different classes, all packed with the latest gadgets and wrapped in sexy clothing.

The latest model to join the family is the V60. It’s a premium compact wagon that has the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate, BMW 3-Series Touring, and Audi A4 Avant in its sights.

Being entirely new, it’s only natural to find it at the Geneva Motor Show, from where it will try to lure customers away from the German establishment once the public will be granted entry, starting on Thursday morning.

With a styling similar to that of the larger V90, the new Volvo V60 is underpinned by Volvo’s SPA platform. It joins the new XC60 in the ’60’ lineup, and it’s equipped with plenty of driving assistance systems, including semi-autonomous driving.

Volvo is expected to launch the all-new V60 in markets across Europe this summer, with a selection of traditional petrol and diesel engines, along with two plug-in hybrid powertrains.

In North America, the estate will arrive in T5 and T6 flavors, both of them with all-wheel drive, making 250hp and 316hp, respectively.

A Cross Country version of the V60 is also coming this summer, as an alternative to the Audi A4 Allroad, probably around the same time when the S60 four-door saloon will be unveiled too.

    I want!

  • REPLACE THE FAKE AIR INTAKE WITH A LENS FOR THE TURN OR FOG LIGHT AND IT’D BE PERFECT. LOVE THE BRIGHT INTERIOR.

  • I would love the Cross Country version!

  • Simon Wilson

this is perhaps the car most important to the DNA of Volvo. It is beautiful, purposeful and strong. I love it. More than the XC60. Just because.

    • Marty

Yes, this is the test of the new design language to see if it really work.
It’s comparably easy to make coupés, large sedans and SUV:s look good – the more compact you get, the harder it gets to keep the same language.

  • Simon Wilson

This is the car that should win Car of the Year. It’s a great expression of the perfect choice of drivetrains, minus the pure electric ones.

    • Nordschleife

      Perhaps next year it will.

    Volvo doesn’t do fake exhausts…

    • David Lee

he’s talking about the exhaust tips, not the sound itself.

      • Jay

i know but if you look closely theres an exhaust within the surrounding square exterior.

        • David Lee

they are inside them, but what you see are the covers. the actual tips are round, not oval. thats how it is on my XC90.

          • Jay

Like wise on my XC60. But for example the Audi Q5 has fake exhaust tips integrated into the bumper and the actual exhausted is facing down to the floor.

You can actually thank customers for this growing trend who complain that the exhaust tips burn their legs if they touch them… like what are you doing that you are touching a hot exhaust tip and why is your foot there.

  • DMJ

It will sell like hot cakes! Great design with it’s own style and concept. And I think that Volvo is going on the good way choosing confort and good taste over sportiness, for that we have lots of german cars.

  • Althea Later

Nice looking… but still looks kind of cramped. Back seat cushion looks kind of low to the floor.
There was a time when riding in the back of a Volvo meant sitting on throne-like seat that were high up off the floor with deep cushiony seats.

This is V90, what’s your point?
