Porsche is readying its 919 Hybrid Evo for another lap record attempt just a week after setting an all-time record at Spa-Francorchamps.

The one-off, created as a tribute to the 919’s racing success, benefits from more power and significantly more downforce. It was able to lap the Belgian circuit 0.783 seconds quicker than the record-setting pole lap set by Lewis Hamilton at last year’s Belgian Grand Prix with a 1:14.770 lap. That’s a hefty 12 seconds faster than a regular 919.

In a new video released by Porsche, the racer is shown in the wind tunnel and we’re offered a glimpse at the Spa record with some mesmerizing footage capturing the car rocketing through Eau Rouge.

The video then ends with ‘Next stop:’ followed by a question mark.

Porsche has previously confirmed that the 919 Hybrid Evo will complete a ‘demo lap’ at the Nurburgring on May 17 but it’s not yet known if a flying lap is also on the cards. If it is, Porsche will look to topple the overall record set by Stefan Bellof in 1983 onboard a Porsche 956 at 6:11.13.

Beyond the car’s run at the Nurburgring, Porsche will take it to the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Festival of Porsche in Brands Hatch as well as the Porsche Rennsport Reunion in Laguna Seca in late September.
