Episode 1 was shared today on the company’s official YouTube channel, and shows the extravagant lifestyle of a modern couple, called Sandra and Quentin. Their routine was severely affected when Quentin was kidnapped from their home, subsequent to a short drive with his significant other in the Audi Q8.
The man then wakes up in a dark room with Sandra phoning him, and immediately tries to put the pieces of the puzzle together, trying to figure out what exactly had happened. The end of the first part shows Quentin escaping from a small shed, in the middle of some desert.
Audi will continue to release the remaining episodes of the short series in the coming weeks, and hopefully, we’ll get to see more of the Q8 as the official release date approaches.
“The most exciting Audi SUV of all times”, as the company refers to it, will basically be a more affordable alternative to the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus. It will share the same MLB Evo platform, developed by the Volkswagen Group, and will be powered by an assortment of engines.
A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder is expected to make its way in the base model, rated at some 250hp, alongside a turbo’d 3.0-liter V6, with 355hp. It’s very likely that Audi will eventually launch a plug-in hybrid variant, and there have been talks about an S Q8 and an RS Q8, too, with the latter believed to have some 530hp to play with, from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine.
