Just a few days after it emerged that the Nurburgring-conquering Gumpert Apollo Sport was for sale, Carscoops reader ArcherOnCars has informed us of another interesting Gumpert Apollo looking for a new home.

This particular Apollo Sport is a 2007 model and starred in an episode of Top Gear when it was driven by Richard Hammond. When the Stig jumped into the driver’s seat, the Apollo Sport set a blistering lap of 1:17.1, thus becoming the quickest road-legal production car to ever lap the Top Gear track. At the time, the car had the same specifications as all other 2007 Apollo Sports, therefore delivering 700 hp.

The following year, the Gumpert went back to the factory to be upgraded to 2008 specification. Changes included the fitment of a carbon fiber air box to boost power to 710 hp, revised gearbox control software, updated fuel pumps, a new fuel tank, improved oil breather system, and tweaked canards on the front bumper.

Interestingly, the car’s history doesn’t stop there. At the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it was crashed at 80 mph (128 km/h) and heavily damaged. It has since been expertly recommissioned and is being sold by Mark Donaldson with UK registration.

The car is painted in metallic blue with a black roof. The cabin is bathed in black leather and perfect for keen racing enthusiasts.

The current asking price sits at £220,000 ($300,000).
