Milan Red Is A 1,306HP Bugatti Chiron Rival From Austria

A small Austrian car company called Milan Automotive wants to rival the big boys in the hypercar segment, such as Koenigsegg and Bugatti.

And they’re planning to do so with the Red, an exotic model that’s powered by a quad-turbocharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that feeds 1,325PS (1,306hp / 974kW) and 1,400Nm (1,033lb-ft) of torque to the rear wheels through a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission.

Milan Automotive says the Red can run to 100km/h (62mph) in 2.47sec, or about the same as the Bugatti Chiron. As for the 0 to 200km/h (0-124mph) and 0-300km/h (0-mph), these take 5.46sec and 9.98sec, respectively. Top speed stands at in excess of 400km/h (249mph), and the Austrian car firm claims the Red is capable of lateral accelerations of 2.6G.

The Milan Red is 4,741mm (186,7in) long, 1,197mm (47.1in) tall and 2,156mm (85in) wide, with a wheelbase of 2,750mm (108.3in). It has a curb weight of 1,300kg (2,866lbs), a carbon fiber monocoque and carbon fiber-made panels.

The rear wing acts as an air brake and stopping power is provided by the carbon ceramic brakes made by Brembo, 390mm (15.4in) front and 380mm (15in) rear, with 6 and 4 piston calipers, respectively.

Going over speed bumps should be fairly easy, given the lifted ground clearance of 135mm (5.3in) (normal – 90mm/3.5in), and the Milan Red has CFRP double wishbone suspension, with 3 spring-damper system and adjustable anti-roll bar at both ends.

Milan will only make 99 units of the hypercar, and 18 have already been spoken for, despite the pricing that’s believed to start at some €2 million locally ($2.33 million).

But why does it looks so wrong?

  • Commonsenseonthefield

    Completely and unabashedly hideous

  • Knotmyrealname

Jeez, reminds me of that awful scene when the young Willy Wonka had to wear that horrible mouth brace…

    • Infinite1

I was thinking the same thing

  • Infinite1

Rear end is just flat and unappealing but the side profile doesn’t look too bad. I’m on the fence with the front end though, not sure how I feel about it just yet.

  • Six_Tymes

I used to come here and bash many newly designed super cars, and i don’t mean super ugly junk that was put together by a dentist. I am talking about start ups like this company and others. then i got real, and asked myself as should everyone else here that bashes many big efforts. Lets see you design a car from scratch.

    • donald seymour

Wow, The-Good-Six, that’s very inspirational. …I’m still bashing though. Annnnd, it looks like a smooth turd.

    • Mill0048

Honestly, there’s been too many commenters around here just bashing everything. Why can’t a car be different? There’s different needs, wants, and tastes the world over. All people do here is compare everything to a Mustang GT, then bash on it on the next article.

      • donald seymour

You know, you’re absolutely right. But man I don’t necessarily think that your statement applies to this aggressive turd.

      • Shane

Uhhh the only way people compare it to a Mustang GT is if it crashes.

      • Not that we like to bash, the car is showed as a shell, the company don’t have a background and if you like cars for decades you know that there are start up supercar company every few months promising big and then went belly up.

        • Mill0048

I agree, these new exotic-car companies pop up and disappear all the time. It’s more of a general statement on the community here, the negativity is a bit much.

  • Mark Hawthorne

Those CGI images where he’s leaning on the car are hilarious. Not to mention it’s truly awful in every way possible.

    • donald seymour

Mark, that a real mock up.

      • Mark Hawthorne

There is a real model car – I’ve seen the pictures – but the images are shopped or CGI. They were taken in a studio or modelled on a computer. Check out the edges of the car

  • Oh well to prove yourself better than some drawing, let’s make a shell to showcase what our supercars looks like, I wouldn’t surprise if I don’t hear from them again.

  • Grizzly Man

This thing will definitely fk up Swedish Kit Trash Konigsegg Agera RS. Glad to see it

    • Mr. EP9

      Don’t count on it.

      • Grizzly Man

You don’t need to worry, because EP9 is the fastest car in Goodwood, 3 days ago that Swedish tuned kit Trash tried to beat EP9, but failed, the owner ran one more time, but failed again😂😂😂

  • Andrewthecarguy

I think it looks good. Has a futuristic look that at least stands out.
It is for the uber rich that dont want to associate with the lottery winner or dotcom app designer type.
I dont think theyll sell 99 units.
    40 tops.

  • PK

    interior shots please.

    • Mr. EP9

Usually when the windows are blacked out, it’s because there is no interior. This thing is a rolling shell.

      • PK

        well that’s disappointing.

  • innotech .

This is the same company that made the Abarth it looks like, so they have a bit of prior experience

    • Is this the same company that made Karl Abarth rotary car? Makes me even dubious if they are indeed the same company, they don’t even finish development on that one. And all we got is blurry video and photo of that said car having it’s engine turn on.

Designed by Dmitry Lazarev – 2013

    Originally envisioned as a LADA!

  • SteersUright

That ridiculous looking thing will never challenge the elegant (though also no quite beautiful) and incredibly engineered Chiron.

  • What might happened is that this Austrian company purchased this design from the said designer, that said I wouldn’t ruled out Russian investment. But company that purchased online design never really succeed is it.
