California happens to be a very diverse state when it comes to weather, with Northern regions more prone to rain, whereas the rest of the state (mostly) enjoys a nice, Mediterranean-like climate.

Southern California is actually the type of environment that’s ideal for driving convertibles, since it doesn’t rain often and the humidity isn’t as bad as say, Florida. Now, if you could build the ideal vehicle for such a place, what would it look like?

Well, if you’re happy with a two-seater sports car configuration, then we reckon this so-called CaliCruiser, rendered by Norbert Hajdu, would fit the bill just fine.

According to its designer, the car’s shape and size is mean to reflect back to a “classic muscular American front engine, rear wheel drive layout,” although Hajdu actually pictured it with an electric motor.

As for its “Californian” flair, you get plenty of storage room in the front (since the electric power unit is in the rear), as well as attachable roof mounts for your surfboards and either a textured, stickerbomb or a wooden trim for the doors.

Altogether, we can definitely see this car cruising the beaches of Southern California, without damaging the environment. Of course, judging by its styling, such a concept would still be many years away, even if it wasn’t completely imaginary.
