Limited Production Hybrid Hypercar To Preview Lamborghini Aventador Successor?

During the past few months, there have been several reports talking about the successor of the Aventador, with most of them claiming that it will arrive with a hybrid powertrain.

Now, McLarenLife forum members state that it will be previewed by a limited production hypercar, known internally as the LB48H.

The LB48H was previewed during a private event in Italy earlier this summer, in prototype form, and it’s said to have borrowed some of the styling cues of the stunning Terzo Millennio Concept.

Moreover, the hypercar will reportedly make use of a naturally aspirated V12 engine with 800 PS (789 hp / 589 kW), backed up by an electric motor expected to deliver an extra 50 PS (49 hp / 37 kW), for a combined output of 850 PS (838 hp / 625 kW).

Lamborghini is believed to limit the production output of the LB48H to only 200 examples, which will make it more exclusive than the Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1, although it’ll be a bit down on power compared to them.

Apart from a limited edition hypercar, the LB48H will likely serve as a preview for Lamborghini’s next-gen flagship supercar, as the replacement of the Aventador will reportedly adopt the same recipe, namely a naturally aspirated V12 engine and an electric motor.

The rumored hypercar won’t be the first hybrid Lamborghini ever, as the Asterion Concept, which was presented four years ago in Paris with 910 PS (897 hp / 669 kW), utilized a V10 ICE and three electric motors. Flat out, the Asterion was said to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds, and have a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).

carrying the design dna of the miura, countach, diablo, murcielago and aventador won’t be an easy task! the successor of the aventador needs to be huge and i mean mega huge!!!! oh and the name of the successor as well!

They can just build this and I would be happy. I haven’t seen a Lambo this intriguing in terms of design since the Diablo and the Countach.
