Get A Heavy Dose Of BMW’s New 8-Series Coupe In 282 Images, 7 Videos

After taking it to Paris for its motor show premiere earlier this month, BMW has finally allowed journalists to sit behind the wheel of the 8-Series Coupe.

Under Portugal’s sun, media representatives got the chance to experience the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe rival for the first time.

This means that the first reviews are underway, but until they arrive, enthusiasts have a gigantic image gallery at their disposal, released by BMW, which shows the  8-Series Coupe from nearly every angle, along with official videos.

Right now, European customers can choose between two versions of the 8-Series Coupe: the 840d and M850i. The former is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel producing 320 PS (315 hp / 235 kW) and 680 Nm (580 lb-ft) of torque, and the latter by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 rated at 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque.

The base diesel model has an MSRP of €100,000 ($114,206) in Germany, whereas the petrol version starts from €125,700 (€142,757).

In the U.S., BMW is offering only the M850i xDrive variant. Pricing kicks off at $112,985 (about €98,900 for those of you comparing) before State taxes and fees, and the first cars will arrive at dealers on December 8.

looks nice, but its still a 6-series to me. which is fine.

I originally thought so too; however, if it worth mentioning it is the size of the S-Class Coupe. Pretty much a very similar foot print unlike the 6 it replaces. Just food for thought.

I didn’t know that Donald, I’ll have to rethink this and now Im really excited to see this in January at my local auto show because I don’t think these photos will do the car justice, especially if it has an S-class coupe presence that you’d only be able to appreciate in person.

I saw it in person and it does have a lot of road presence. But I will leave the judgement up to you.

I think we’ve gotten our fill of the M850i already.

Ok ok..enough with all the pictures 😂. It sounds nice I watched the video of it launching repeatedly on the track. Is it mea or is this one of the few GT like coupes that I don’t associate it with a woman?

I’m not sexist or nothing, but I give my cars girl names. I’d name this one something like Bro-tato-chip or something. It just looks like it lifts a lot 😂

I hate most of BMW’s recent cars, but I have to give props to them on this one. BMW knocked it out of the park with the 8-Series. It not only looks good, but moves the needle in terms of their design language. BMW needs to take the lead designer on this one and put them in charge of the entire design department–and probably fire a lot of people for pretty much every SUV/crossover they make, and that Z4 and 3-Series too.

The M850iX is the standard one in the States.

    • Toss

Yeah…why not to show base model?

    • Bo Hanan

Looks a little closer to show car.

  • TheBelltower

Nice car. Not 282 pictures-worthy, but nice.

  • maxnix

So much sexy luxury. I am sure it is a great Grand Tourer, but those people probably use private jets any way.

    Kind of sad.

  • Sybill Julian

    too mustang-ish

  • Bash

It does have a huge nose though.

I want to like it ,but it looks just like a new 6 series ..
