Kia is gearing up to introduce the 2020 Telluride at the North American International Auto Show and the company is giving us a closer look at its range-topping crossover thanks to a new teaser video.

Previewed by a handful of near-production concepts at SEMA and New York Fashion Week, the 2020 Telluride will be launched next spring and offer seating for up to eight people. The crossover will be built and Georgia and compete with other models such as the Chevrolet Traverse and Subaru Ascent.

While that much we already knew, the teaser video describes the Telluride as large, premium crossover that embraces the idea of “big, bold and boxy.” Unfortunately, the clip doesn’t show much of the exterior as it only gives a peek at the crossover’s prominent grille, LED-framed headlights and L-shaped taillights.

The brief glimpse of the interior reveals the model will have a leather-wrapped steering wheel with gloss black accents, metallic flourishes and high-quality switchgear. It also shows perforated black leather seats with contrast stitching integrated into the backrest. We can also see the Telluride center’s stack will have a wide central air vent that resides above two rows of switches.

While Kia hasn’t mentioned performance specifications, the 2020 Hyundai Palisade gives us a pretty good idea of what to expect. It rides on an all-new platform and features a 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces an estimated 291 hp (217 kW / 295 PS) and 262 lb-ft (354 Nm) of torque. The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system.

The Palisade is also pretty luxurious as the model offers quilted Nappa leather upholstery and ventilated second-row captain’s chairs. Other highlights include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system and a power-folding third row.
