Lamborghini Aventador ‘Replica’ Is A $22,500 Pontiac-Based Mess

When Lamborghini launched the Aventador in 2011, the industry stood up to applaud its 700 PS (690 HP) 6.5-liter V12 engine that was capable of getting the Italian exotic from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than three seconds.

Even now, the Aventador remains one of the fastest, most exotic and most beautiful cars in the world, whether it’s the original LP 700-4, the newer Aventador S or the hardcore SVJ. The Pontiac GTO-based replica you see here, on the other hand, is garbage.

Well, not to be mean for the sake of it but we doubt there’s anyone out there willing to say that this contraption is actually a “replica” of anything. It has some Aventador-like visual features, but that’s about it.

As for the interior, there’s a Lamborghini inscription underneath the passenger-side airbag, plus an angled center console, somewhat similar to what you’d find on the Lambo, although only shape-wise.

The car is currently up for sale on Craigslist and the owner is asking for $22,500. In return you get a 2004 Pontiac GTO frame/body with its original drivetrain and electronics, plus a “dummy” mid-engine – because the real engine is in front. The seller also claims that the car “runs and drives great,” a statement he follows up by saying “All power”…

That’s horrible and ugly just like the one in the link from a few years ago.

      I love it!

    • estradings

Looks just like Japanese car designs… Ugly as hell!

  • carlbolt

I don’t think it’s an Aventador replica because there was no Aventador in 2011. It’s more like a Reventon replica.

  • Six_Tymes

    poor Pontiac GTO

    • Momogg

      Exactly, poor Pontiac. ?

    • estradings

Why mimic Lambo when we have our Camaros and Corvettes? I think others should mimic our brands!!

  • Bash

The funny thing is that if he properly upgraded that Pontiac and professionally pimped it -you know what i mean- it would have cost him less than that ugly transformation shown in those pics And I bet it would have even increase the value of the car. but again, no offence to anyone but lots of people have no taste. sad but true.

    • Momogg

Yes, a lot of money for nothing…

  • Mike anonymous

To be honest this actually looked pretty cool. (Minus the front and the back) the middle (and even the interior) actually looks like a testing or prototype version of a ‘Baby NSX’ . It may just be me, but I felt like I saw baby NSX (or at least like something that came out of the Honda design studio).

As an Aventador… I am not so sure,… But as a Baby NSX ((Again,.. and this may be critical) MINUS the front and the back…) it’s not so bad. At least in my own opinion anyways.

    • estradings

Are you kidding me?? Honda will never even think about car design like this. All Honda designs now-a-days are ugly as Heck… Sick of looking at these Japanese car designs these days….

    • Perry F. Bruns

      *Everything except

Also, I am so sad that a GTO died for this.

  • ➡️ProtectOurHeritage⬅️

Absolute trash. I’d rather have a mint-condition Pontiac GTO than something looks worse than a Chinese knock-off.

  • Banesto Highland

He should have modded it to look like the Holden it was originally based on.

  • Mr. EP9

And that’s why I have ad block.

  • Enter Ranting

Well, at least it won’t burn to the ground like a real Lamborghini.

  • crx nineseveneight

This looks very nice actually. I’d tone down front air scoops, but otherwise one of the most “finished” products I’ve ever seen. No parts of it hint at an old car being underneath.

  • pxsupply

Looks like the hood has a poor fit. The back looks pretty good actually
