Jeep is launching the petrol version of the Wrangler in the UK, which joins the existing diesel-powered model in the off-roader’s range.

Under the bonnet of the petrol Wrangler lies a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit producing 268hp (272PS) and 295lb-ft (400Nm) of torque.

The only other option in the UK lineup of the 2019 Wrangler remains the 2.2-liter Mulitjet II turbodiesel unit with 197hp (200PS) and 331lb-ft (450Nm) of torque. Both engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The new petrol Wrangler starts from £44,865 in base Sahara trim, which is the same exact price with its diesel counterpart. In fact, prices throughout the range remain the same, no matter which of the two engines you choose.

As with the diesel, the 2.0-liter turbo petrol Jeep Wrangler comes with two on-demand full-time 4WD systems that feature the new Selec-Trac two-speed transfer case.: Sahara and Overland trims get the Command-Trac, while the even more rugged Rubicon comes with the Rock-Trac.

Jeep UK offers the right-hand drive version of the Wrangler in 10 different exterior colors: including Black, Firecracker Red, Billet Silver Metallic, Bright White, Granite Crystal Metallic, Hellayella, Ocean Blue, Punk’n Metallic, Mojito and Sting Gray.

In addition to the two available bodystyles, customers will also get to choose between three different top configurations: the Sky One-Touch powertop, the new Zipperless Premium Sunrider soft top and the removable Freedom hard top.
