If you’re not familiar with the term ‘hoon’, let us educate you. Popularized in Australia and New Zealand, the term refers to a person who drives their vehicle recklessly.

Not only is ‘hoon’ a common word used by the public, it’s also used by police and the highest government officials to refer to dangerous and reckless drivers.

The person at the helm of the Ford Falcon in the clip below is a hoon in the truest sense.

The clip, filmed from the dashcam of an SUV, starts off quite benign when ,out of nowhere, the driver in the Falcon decides to do a burnout. Not only is this stupid anywhere on public roads, but it’s particularly idiotic as the car slowly creeps towards a train track and a red light.

One would expect them to stop at that point, but hey, why ruin such a nice burnout and wait for the light to change green? Instead, the driver continues to spin the wheels as they illegally drive through the intersection and almost get T-boned by another vehicle.

Thankfully, the Falcon driver’s attempts to show off were witnessed by a nearby police car, which soon gives chase. If you watch closely, you’ll see the Falcon aggressively make a left turn when the police car flicks on its lights.

We don’t know if the driver was caught, but we certainly hope so. If you want to pull those stands, find yourself an abandoned airfield or go to a proper track, mate; other road users can do without you putting them in danger, thank you very much.
