Florida Man Arrested For Going 100MPH Tells Cops “The Car Is A Ferrari And It Goes Fast”

A man in Florida has been arrested after allegedly fleeing from a sheriff’s deputy in his Ferrari on Sunday morning.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Gabriel Molina was spotted driving “recklessly” down Highway 1 in the Florida Keys by locals.

Upper Keys Sgt. Robert Dosh, who was stationed at Mile Marker 87, was informed of this and, shortly after, spotted the Ferrari passing by at approximately 75 mph in the center lane. When he gave chase, Molina sped to 100 mph (160 km/h) and turned off his lights. The Ferrari driver was eventually spotted by Sgt. Dosh at a gas station and was promptly arrested.

Molina did not resist and admitted to speeding. His excuse? “The car is a Ferrari and it goes fast.” We presume Sgt. Dosh wasn’t impressed…

A female passenger told officers that Molina did see the lights and sirens of the police vehicle and that she told him to slow down. The County Sheriff’s press release states that she was not charged.

The Miami resident apparently is no stranger to traffic violations. The Miami Herald reports that, from 2013 to 2019, he raked up nine traffic ticket convictions, including one in Miami-Dade where he was caught doing 100 mph (160 km/h) in a 55 mph (88 km/h) zone. All up, he has paid $2,411 in various fines for his driving misdemeanors.

The 29-year-old was charged with fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer and is due to be arraigned on May 7.

..And these are cops, they arrest so much faster

  • Shobin Drogan

Not impressed, a prius can do the same speed he was caught doing.

So, basically the same self-righteous idiot as almost anyone on vinwiki…

“My Maserati goes 185, I lost my license, now I don’t drive”….oops wrong brand

    • TRB0T0Y

Wrong speed too. It always cracked me up a bit, as I don’t think anything could hit 185 when that song came out.
Maseratis of the era could mayyybe crack 140 if it didn’t explode …

      • europeon

Not 185, but more than 140. Ghibli was doing 175+ a decade before that song came out. Khamsin and Bora were doing almost 180.

        And maybe he’s talking km/h.

Maserati got stuck in the automotive toilet through much of the 70s and 80s.

  • Mr. EP9

That’s much better, back to the usual Florida man levels of stupidity.

  • StuffyAnt

Not a top speed for Ferrari, I suppose it can faster.

    • Harry_Wild

Probably an older model that doe not have the 200 mph limit! Could be a 20 year old Ferrari too!

There comes a time when a licence needs to be revoked if only temporarily.

So much car and nowhere to drive it. Poor thang.

  • nik

    At least he’s cute lmaoooooooooi

    • Paulbe

Definitely a question of taste. Don’t fancy tasting that one myself.

  • lagann

Having lived in Florida. Florida roads are huge and can easily go 100mph on a supposed 55mph speed limited road…and do it safely if the car can handle it.

Obviously I’m not saying all roads but you gotta use your head. Busy road but huge road? Let’s drive within a safe speed. Huge road of nothingness? Can speed up a bit.

    • Kagan

55 mph puts people to sleep. Move away from those fascist police stats

  • Bill Nguyen

Well, can’t argue with that logic!

  • JGreen

“Molina sped to 100 mph and turned off his lights”.
THATS crazy, especially with a passenger. I assume it was dark since it was “Sunday morning”.

  • Jweisberg

He is not a US citizen.

  • europeon

    What case is that?

    • TRB0T0Y

The case of Moi v. The Audacity of that Line!
      ‘My Maserati goes 185’… !?…
That line was used ages ago, well before any car, much less a Maserati, ever went 185.

  • Six_Tymes

he most likely has about 3 brain cells, and money that he doses not deserve

  • Kagan

He was fleeing with just 100 mph! That is why he got arrested. 😁
