A man in Florida has been arrested after allegedly fleeing from a sheriff’s deputy in his Ferrari on Sunday morning.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Gabriel Molina was spotted driving “recklessly” down Highway 1 in the Florida Keys by locals.
Upper Keys Sgt. Robert Dosh, who was stationed at Mile Marker 87, was informed of this and, shortly after, spotted the Ferrari passing by at approximately 75 mph in the center lane. When he gave chase, Molina sped to 100 mph (160 km/h) and turned off his lights. The Ferrari driver was eventually spotted by Sgt. Dosh at a gas station and was promptly arrested.
Molina did not resist and admitted to speeding. His excuse? “The car is a Ferrari and it goes fast.” We presume Sgt. Dosh wasn’t impressed…

A female passenger told officers that Molina did see the lights and sirens of the police vehicle and that she told him to slow down. The County Sheriff’s press release states that she was not charged.
The Miami resident apparently is no stranger to traffic violations. The Miami Herald reports that, from 2013 to 2019, he raked up nine traffic ticket convictions, including one in Miami-Dade where he was caught doing 100 mph (160 km/h) in a 55 mph (88 km/h) zone. All up, he has paid $2,411 in various fines for his driving misdemeanors.
The 29-year-old was charged with fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer and is due to be arraigned on May 7.
