Explore The 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette With These 23 Videos

To celebrate the premiere of the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette, the American car manufacturer has published no less than 23 videos on YouTube detailing various aspects of the long-awaited mid-engined sports car.

The videos, all featured in the playlist below curated by yours truly, take a deep dive into the new car and highlights some of the most intriguing aspects of the car, including some which could be easily overshadowed by obvious features such as the 6.2-liter V8 engine and eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

One of our favorite features of the C8 Corvette is its front lift system. Chevrolet says the system can lift the front of the car by two inches in under three seconds. Drivers can engage the lift system at the touch of a button but it can also be programmed to remember the GPS locations of up to 1000 obstacles which owners may experience on their daily commute. If there are five speed bumps in your street, for example, you can tell the system to memorize the locations of those speed bumps and in the future, the lift system will be engaged automatically as you approach them.

Another innovative feature of the C8 Corvette are its two trunks. Yes, two. Typically, mid-engined cars only feature storage compartments up front but Chevrolet has also designed a large storage area directly behind the mid-mounted engine. This rear trunk isn’t particularly small, either. In fact, it stores the removable roof panel and even has enough room to accommodate two golf bags.

Other special features of the new C8 Corvette include its updated Performance Data Recorded, Z-Mode, various interior trim and seat options, and the innovative eLSD.

Prices for the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette will start at under $60,000 in the United States for the standard Stingray model equipped with a naturally-aspriated 6.2-lier V8 engine pumping out 490 hp and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque. The car can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than three seconds.

I still hate that rear spoiler but this car is pretty awesome. Sounds like this is gonna have Z06 performance for less money and with less power. I love the interior. Lots of great features too.

    • Harry_Wild

Spoiler is an add in item!

    • MarketAndChurch

I think they said in the (3rd) video that it (the spoiler) is part of the Z51 package.

    • john1168

I was very happy to see that they had a different spoiler available on the configurator.

  • B.Stokes

They will not be able to keep these in stock

I always wait for videos to judge a car. This video did not fail to impress. Can’t wait for reviews against other $60,000 cars on the market, including the Mustang GT350R, Cayman, Supra/Z4, and the M2/3.

    • Denzel

It’s doesn’t compete with those cars. So I wouldn’t be hard for it to be faster or better. The real competition is the McLaren 570s, Porsche 911, NSX etc. The Corvette is like the GTR when it was 70k going up against supercars

      • Dark Rebel

Yea those cars he listed would first have the beat all of the Camaro variants which we know the Camaro will hold its own.

      • Dennis James

However, regarding the GT-R, I don’t feel it managed to eat into the supercar market that you mentioned.

      • MarketAndChurch

I mostly agree with that, but it does agree with the vehicles I mentioned based on price. That’s how the auto industry works these days, price segment often trumps vehicle segment when it comes to competition.

    • Dark Rebel

Well first those cars you listed would have to beat the camaro ZL1! The GT350R gives it a run for its money but the alpha platform is superior. The German cars including the supra will struggle against a camaro ss. Then let them compete against GM’s 1LE variants.

        You preaching!

  • Moebad

That it says corvette?…It is screaming I want to be a Ferrari for those who cannot buy or afford one. And it would make sense being targeted at retirees, it being an affordable mid-engine “dream car”. (ehm NSX, ehm)

am I not the only one who saw this and thought, I done seen it in so many spy shots and Rendings that I was not surprised
