Spend The Day Building 2020 Corvette Stingray Of Your Dreams With New Configurator

With a sub-$60,000 starting price and a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout, the new generation Chevrolet Corvette sounds too good to be true – but, luckily, it actually is.

In the hours that have passed since its unveiling, it has surely ended up on the shopping list of petrol heads all over the world. But what if you would want to spec it to your desire from the comfort of your home/office, and not having to visit a Chevy dealer? Now you can do so, with the online configurator.

First off, you get to pick between 12 exterior colors, six wheel designs and a number of available options. We went for a stealthy look, choosing black all around, as well as transparent roof panels, several visible carbon fiber accessories and the engine appearance package.

Next, you’ll have to decide between comfort and performance amenities by choosing one of the three trim levels named 1LT, 2LT and 3LT. We went for the first one, opting for the Jet Black with Red Stitching interior, GT2 seats, leather and red seatbelts.

There are countless ways to personalize the 2020 Corvette Stingray of your dreams. As you can see, this is how we’d spec ours and shared a few pictures with it in the gallery right below. Now it’s your turn to decide how you’d want your brand new ‘Vette to look like.

It takes a whole day to build one? F no… i would rather buy a new BMW Z4 Coupé then… Or Supra I think its called..

    • Ben

We’re gonna call you Chef since you like to stir the pot so much, lol.

      • 2PacOfCarscoop

        I’M NOT A dude!

        • Ben

Whoa buddy! Are you saying only men can be a chef!? Like….umagawd, you’re so misogynistic. Like, hello, this isn’t 2010 anymore, check your privilege, mkay?!

  • john1168

Awesome! I’ll have to check out the online configurator.

    • john1168

      aaaand the configurator crashed…LOL

      • MarketAndChurch

It crashed 10 times while I was using it last night too

The eight first articles in line about C8. How come?
The car is not THAT impressive, it’s probably a decent car. Although the exterior looks absolutely horrendous:(
As this is my opinion, I’m sure there are others who like it. But this presents av one of those “only a mother could love” type of things. I’m fairly certain a lot of people share my opinion.

    • performante

That’s just, like, your opinion, man.

This is huge news, which is why it’s being covered so much. Sorry son.

      • SMSO

That’s just it tho. It’s a changed engine placement in a traditionally front mounted car. Hardly huge news. And it certainly does not warrant the coverage it has gotten. Then again this is an American site, so I can understand there is interest for it. But can you honestly say it is worth 8 articles in a row?

    • Ben

You’re right. Lets talk about Ford’s Emoji truck release or maybe another polarizing Tesla article.

      • SMSO

Well. If you want to limit your readings to those other two options, go right ahead. At least there weren’t 8 articles in a row about those. And that is not counting articles the previous half a year. C8 articles came close to being spam.

        • Ben

Just don’t read it my guy. Surely you can understand the gravity of the Corvette going mid-engine and producing such fantastic numbers. Corvette sits right at the intersection of affordable, world class performance and livability. No other sports car can equal that.

          Mustang= affordable, livable | lacks corvette’s performance
911= Livable, world class performance | isn’t as affordable
GTR= Livable, world class performance | isn’t affordable anymore
Supra= Livable, affordable | doesn’t have corvette performance
AMG GT= Livable, word class performance | isn’t as affordable
Viper= livable, world class performance, affordable | Cancelled
NSX= Livable, world class performance | Not affordable

          You see the pattern here?

          • no25

Mustang= better looking than the C8
911= better looking than the C8
GTR= better looking than the C8
Supra= better looking than the C8
AMG GT= better looking than the C8
Viper= better looking than the C8
NSX= better looking than the C8

            You’re right! I do see a pattern!

          • Ben

Hey, I’ll always spring for nearly any Porsche over a Corvette, but that’s just me. Objectively speaking, nothing is beating that Corvette’s proposition of livability, affordability and performance. The only sports cars listed I wouldn’t take over a Corvette would be the mustang(everyone has one), Supra(depends) and the GTR(read that book before).

  • performante

Half the front page is the C8. I love it lmao

  • javier

i kind of like the car in dark grey but the configurator is really really bad. I just wanted to see the car in different colors and that was a problem, then it crashed

    • john1168

Yeah, it crashed when I was on it too. Too many people playing on it last night I guess.

  • Julien Lachemoi

8 articles about the new Corvette in the front page. It feels like a teenagers forum from early 2000.
People are paid to post this stuff ?

    • performante

Literally every automotive blog/publication has at least 3 articles on the C8, so………

      • Julien Lachemoi

Oh so if the others do it then it’s alright. I forgot about that rule.

    • Kumquat

So true! Who wants to read about a mid-engine sports car with a base price under $60K?

I wanna read about crossovers that suck the soul out of my driving experience!

      • Julien Lachemoi

So 8 articles of the same car seems like a good practice for you ?

        • MarketAndChurch

The Corvette is a big deal, it’s an automotive legend, especially here in the US.

    • Joe Mosely

i can’t say i read them all but I did pick up different pieces of info from different articles. They only take a minute to read. They’re not War and Peace. I’d rather read this than something about the latest EV from a company I never heard of.

  • j-dawg

So this car is actually “too good to be true?” That’s bad, right?

    • Ben

People said the same when the R35 came about and the same about the 720s. There are cars that are “growth spurts” in the industry. That put a certain class, segment, price point on a new level. The same happens on the luxury side of the industry.

  • robotlogic

I’d really hate to be the guy that just spent $100K on a 2019 Z06 thinking I got a deal over the original $120K list price.

    • john1168

I was thinking the same thing. Good thing I didn’t have the funds to get a Z06 earlier. Of course that probably means the C7’s are gonna plummet in value. So if one wanted a C7 now, it would be a good thing.

      • robotlogic

I have a friend that picked up a low mile 2017 Z07 a few months ago, against my strong advise to wait for the C8 release.

        • john1168

oh boy… I bet he’s a little pissed now. But I hope he’s happy with it. There are some decent deals out there on 2016+ Z06/Z07’s out there and I too thought about doing the same thing. But like I said, I think prices on C7’s are gonna go down A LOT more now that the C8 is out. With similar performance. With no forced induction. For a new car. For similar money. I honestly didn’t think it would go this fast with 490hp for the money.

  • Julien Lachemoi

1 or 2 articles would have been plenty to cover this news. And they usually up their own articles with updates when they need to add some informations.

I know the Corvette means something to Americans but this is absolutely ridiculous.
Did you find it nice to scroll through 8 differents articles to get the informations about this new Corvette ?

Would it be okay if it was about a car you are not interested in ?

    • MarketAndChurch

The average [email protected] day has like 10 articles, from autonomous driving to electric car startup trying to survive, to Tr3mp. It’s nice to have something different to be excited about, and most of those articles barely get more than 2-4 comments unless its controversial/political/rekt in nature.

  • LJ

What a missed opportunity to do something special. Instead of getting a design deserving of the Corvette name, we get a 10 year old Ferrari with a Camaro back end.

  • ErnieB
  • Mike Sinyaboot ©

Well thats a first….the configurator site is down due to high traffic. I wonder if this is actually true or if it is simply a clever marketing strategy to get social media mentions about the popularity/interest in this new Vette.

I wanted to see what other wheel options will be available. Both the wheels in the images in this article and those on the red unveiling model are pretty much the only design aspect that I really don’t at all care for, especially painted black.
