Not long after an image surfaced showcasing a headlight of the 2021 Ford Bronco, users at the Bronco6G forums have sourced an image reportedly showcasing a steel mold of the headlight cut-out and front grille of the ‘baby Bronco’ from which the production plastic (?) piece will be formed.

The shape of the headlights are oval as opposed to the round-shape of the full-sized Bronco. A look at the center of the grille also reveals a stamping for a large ‘BRONCO’ logo. Also visible is a mesh design complete with small ovals similar in shape to the headlights.

Our eagle-eyed spy photographers were able to snap a baby Bronco out-and-about during testing in Detroit back in September. While that prototype was covered in thick camouflage, it did feature a very boxy design and curiously, had more rounded headlights. One likely explanation is that the prototype was not rocking production-spec lights.

Ford is being equally as protective of the baby Bronco’s cabin as it is the exterior. As a matter of fact, prototypes have had their cabins bathed in sheets to hide any obvious pieces of design. With that being said, we do believe the SUV will receive a fully-digital gauge cluster.

In terms of power, the baby Bronco could receive similar powertrain options as the Escape. If true, that could mean an entry-level 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder with 180 hp and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) as well as an optional 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 250 hp and 275 lb-ft (372 Nm) of torque.

The baby Ford Bronco is tipped to launch in 2021.
