Ever since the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 debuted back in 2013, people have been fascinated by off-roaders that feature three axles and six wheels. This Jeep Wrangler recently reviewed by Doug DeMuro has been created to mimic the G63 6×6.

The off-roader, which by the way, is right-hand drive, is currently up for sale from CNC Motors for $149,999. It also appears to be more about shocking looks than it is about serious off-roading. Most notably, it’s not actually six-wheel drive because there is no driveshaft on the third axle. Consequently, it’s still four-wheel drive and the rear-most wheels are simply there for show.

Alongside the 6×6 conversion, the vehicle’s ride height has been aggressively lifted and it has been fitted with a set of off-road focused tires.

Perhaps the most intriguing thing about the Jeep (alongside the third axle) is the fact that it is now a pickup truck – a Gladiator, if you will. It appears as though most of the body panels from behind the rear doors are custom-made to help the vehicle somewhat mimic the look of the Gladiator. Among the aftermarket parts is the removable rear cap that has been shortened from a typical Wrangler.

One other interesting aspect of this Wrangler 6×6 is the external roll cage which while it may look quite cool, doesn’t appear to be functional as one of its mounting points is actually on the rear wheel arch. In the event of a rollover, it would likely do very little to protect the roof from damage.

We know of at least one Jeep Gladiator out there that is undergoing a six-wheeled transformation. As the Gladiator leaves the Jeep factory as a pickup truck, it could make for a more compelling G63 6×6 copycat.
