Porsche unveiled a trio of unique Taycans at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance last weekend, each adorned with a special livery.

The German automaker has an incredibly rich racing history and is responsible for some of the most iconic liveries over the years. The liveries adorning these Taycan models pay tribute to the Team Salzburg Porsche 917K from the 1940 Le Mans 24 Hours, the ‘Pink Pig’ 917 of 1971, and the Brumos Racing colors.

While all three liveries are striking, we think it is the ‘Pink Pig’ theme that is the most eye-catching. With that being said, the white and red theme of the Team Salzburg 917 and the white, red, and blue livery from Brumos Racing each have a unique appeal of their own.

It is unclear if these liveries are wraps or actually intricate paint schemes. The German marque famously offered Porsche 918 Spyder customers the chance to order their vehicles with classic motorsport liveries and in that case, they were wraps applied over the paintwork so it’s likely a similar story with these Taycans.

It also remains unclear if Porsche Taycan customers will be able to commission motorsport-inspired liveries from the factory.

The unveiling of these special Taycans comes shortly after the all-electric Porsche was announced as one of three finalists in the 2020 World Car Of The Year in the ‘Performance Car’ category. Funnily, the other three finalists in this category are the Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder/Cayman GT4, and 911. The Taycan is also being considered for the ‘World Car Design’ and ‘World Luxury Car’ categories.
