Audi vehicles have been prominently featured in blockbuster Marvel movies including Avengers: Endgame and Captain America: Civil War.

Hyundai is apparently trying to mimic that as they’ve announced a new “multi-picture promotional partnership” with Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Under the terms of the deal, Hyundai vehicles and technology will be featured in five upcoming movies. They include Uncharted (July 2021) as well as the sequels to Spider-Man: Far From Home (November 2021) and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (October 2022). Hyundai models will also make an appearance in at least two other “tentpoles” which have yet to be determined.

There’s no word on which vehicles will be used in the upcoming movies, but Hyundai suggested the films could showcase their vision for future mobility. This means some many feature urban air taxis such as the S-A1.

In return for being featured in blockbuster movies, Hyundai will offer “substantial marketing support” for the films. The two companies will also collaborate on a wide range of content and hinted this could include virtual reality and gaming experiences, co-produced events and concept vehicles produced for movies.

Hyundai’s Chief Marketing Officer Wonhong Cho said, “This strategic partnership with Sony Pictures will allow customers to understand and experience our human-centered future mobility vision through innovative vehicles and technologies, illuminating a way forward for transforming how we move, interact, and design our lives for optimal benefits.” He also added the company will “inspire our customers and movie fans around the globe.”
