The purple 2018 Ford GT owned by racing driver Graham Rahal will soon hit the used car market and, with its unique appearance, is bound to attract a lot of attention.

Rahal took delivery of his car roughly two years ago, which means that he can now freely sell it without having Ford coming after him. We’ve seen quite a lot of 2018 Ford GTs hit the market this year and for good reason. First of all, the two year no-sale clause is no longer in effect. Second, while the GT had an sticker price of around $500,000, used examples are now selling for more than $1 million, so we can’t blame Rahal for cashing in on the demand and parting ways with the car.

While Ford didn’t actually offer purple as a standard color for the GT, a host of owners were offered the chance to spec out their own unique colors. In Rahal’s GT, this shade of purple is contrasted with silver racing stripes. The car has also been used by HRE Wheels for a number of photoshoots with different wheel designs. In these photos shared to Instagram by the racing driver, the car’s standard carbon fiber wheels have been re-installed.

Rahal’s GT is chassis number 218 and, given that it was one of the first 500 units to be built, it might prove to be more valuable in the decades to come than 2020, 2021 and 2022 models.
