It was Valentine’s Day on Sunday and to celebrate, Koenigsegg released a video of the Regera powersliding on a snow-covered runway.

This clip appears to have been filmed at the car manufacturer’s Angelholm testing facility – and whoever was behind the steering wheel clearly know their business, as it’s far from easy to slide such an immensely powerful car on the snow and always be in control.

The Koenigsegg Regera is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that is rated at 1,100 hp at 7,800 rpm and 944 lb-ft (1,280 Nm) of torque at 4,100 rpm when running on 95 octane gasoline. Supplementing this engine are three YASA electric motors, one of which is mounted on the crankshaft while the other two are mounted at the rear wheels to provide additional power and torque vectoring. All up, the Regera churns out 1,500 hp (1,521 PS) and 1,475 lb-ft (2,000 Nm) of torque.

Making the car’s powertrain all the more intriguing is the fact that it lacks a traditional transmission and instead features Koenigsegg’s Direct-Drive system that features a single-speed fixed-gear transmission. The result is a car that delivers a driving experience unlike any other and as the driver doesn’t have to worry about changing gears, could actually make the Regera slightly easier to drift than the company’s other production model, the Jesko.
