The C8 Corvette has been plagued by production delays pushing delivery dates farther and farther back. And while we, of course, understand, we can’t help but imagine that buyers waiting for theirs are feeling like forlorn pet dogs waiting by the rainy window for their people to come home.

So why not soothe your weary soul with this very impressive wooden model. Made by YouTube’s Woodworking Art this is the latest in a long line of equally impressive wooden car models.

As per usual, the model features incredible detail and an eye into the woodworking process. Starting as a block of solid wood, you almost struggle to believe that it will eventually become a model that rolls, steers, and opens in all the ways the real one would.

Such is the level of detail that it even has little red brake calipers behind the rims to really sell the look.

“My wooden C8 version was made for one month and 10 days in a row, one of the stunning cars a friend of mine ordered me to make,” writes the carpenter in the video description. “I was very happy when I finished it and was about to send it to my friend. Invite you to watch and enjoy the beauty of it.”

The C8 Corvette this model is based on is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 making 495 hp, hooked up to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The sprint to 60 mph is handled in less than 3 seconds and track times have impressed.

We’re still waiting to hear exactly what Chevy has in mind for the Z06 and other performance variants, but reports suggest that they’ll be impressive.
