Hyundai Casper N Render Is Pure Fiction But We Like It

Hyundai unveiled the Casper only a few weeks ago but it was natural that at some point someone was going to envision a performance variant wearing the N badge. Digital creator 722_modeling was the first to do it with a set of pictures depicting an imaginary “hot” version of the tiny SUV.

The Casper got the signature Performance Blue exterior color which is exclusive to the N Performance range, combined with red and black accents. The lower suspension was a necessity, making it look more like a hot hatch and less of an SUV despite keeping the roof rails.

At the front, the designer added extra intakes outside the large circular headlights and a bumper extension with a red splitter replacing the skid plate. The SUV already had bulky fenders so the profile looks quite cool with the oversized rims that are finished in black and wear low-profile tires. Behind them, we can also see huge brake discs with red brake calipers. Finally, the transformation wouldn’t be complete without a rear diffuser housing a pair of exhaust pipes.

Hyundai’s N Performance division is known for crazy ideas like the iMax N Drift Bus and the Palisade N render, so a Casper N, whether in concept form or a render, doesn’t sound too outlandish.

With a length of 3,595 mm (141.5 inches) and a 2,400 mm (94.5 inches) wheelbase, the Casper is pretty agile. However, given that the model is based on the K1 platform, it would be impossible to fit a large engine under the tiny bonnet. In fact, the most powerful variant of the Hyundai i10, which is based on the same platform, is the N Line with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder T-GDi producing 98 hp (74 kW / 100 PS) and 172 Nm (126 lb-ft), which is no match for a full-blown N.

The i10 N-Line is the sportiest A-Segment vehicle currently offered by Hyundai/Kia. It is fitted with the 1.0 T-GDi engine and comes with visual changes and a more aggressive suspension setup.

As much as we want to make this project a reality, a Casper N seems highly unlikely to make it into production. At the end of the day, this is a budget-friendly model aiming at practicality and low running costs, and the investment needed for creating a performance version wouldn’t make any sense. This means that the i20 N will probably remain the smallest and cheapest Hyundai N money can buy.
