MINI is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their four-seat convertible by introducing an all-new Seaside Edition.

Set to arrive in February, the special edition features a Caribbean Aqua or Nanuq White exterior with a black power soft top, which can be opened or closed at speeds up to 18 mph (30 km/h).

While that’s pretty much par for the course, the Seaside Edition features a handful of special touches including white body stripes, a front bumper graphic, and unique side scuttles with Seaside badging.  They’re joined by 18-inch alloy wheels and special wheel caps that are weighted, so they always remain in the correct position.

The special touches continue in the cabin as drivers will find Carbon Black leather seats and a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel with Seaside badging.  They’re joined by unique trim with “30 years of Convertible” badging on the passenger side dashboard.  Other highlights include Seaside sill plates, special floor mats, and a unique key with an iridescent blue wave pattern.

The Seaside Edition is available in Cooper and Cooper S guise with the latter featuring a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine developing 176 hp (131 kW / 178 PS).  This enables the model to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 7.2 seconds.

The Cooper Convertible, on the other hand, has a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder pumping out 134 hp (100 kW/ 136 PS).  It should enable the drop top to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in around 8.8 seconds.
