For some, you can never have enough horsepower and YouTuber Westen Champlin is one of those people.

The popular YouTuber has built some wild four-wheeled creations over the years, none crazier than the Cummins-powered Ford Mustang that he built back in 2020. This engine was a 5.9-liter six-cylinder diesel that in its most standard form was rated at 230 hp and 440 lb-ft (597 Nm). Champlin wanted some extra grunt so he fitted a massive turbocharger and ended up extracting over 612 hp an 1,500 lb-ft (2,033 Nm) of torque at the wheels.

Those figures would be more than enough for most but Champlin recently decided it would be a good idea to remove it and replaced it with a brand-new engine. This engine is also a Cummins diesel with six-cylinders but displaces 6.1-liters and now has two massive turbochargers. The result? A diesel Mustang that in its very first run on the dyno, churned out 900 hp at the wheels during a very easy run.

In the second dyno pull, Champlin was a bit more liberal with the throttle and it finished up with 1,016 hp. The team behind the crazy Ford then boosted the timing for the third dyno run and this time, it churned out 1,264 hp and 2,200 lbs (2,982 lbs) of torque to the rear wheels – or around 1,500 hp at the crank. This results in a pony car that churns through its rear tires like you wouldn’t believe, all while bellowing clouds of thick black smoke into the atmosphere.
