Although their footprints are quite different, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and the Suzuki Jimny are two of the most desirable off-roaders these days. Digital artist Theottle took inspiration from the cross-collaboration between Toyota and Suzuki, creating a fictional Land Cruiser-based model with Jimny looks.

The Suzuki Jimny is available in three-door and five-door guises. However, even the longest variant measures 3,985 mm (156.9 inches), which is a full 940 mm (37 inches) shorter than the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Despite the notable difference in size, the boxy lines of the little Suzuki turned out to be a good fit for the proportions of the larger Toyota as exhibited by the fictional renderings. Even the bump on the side windows could be interpreted as a reference to the similar styling feature found in the current Jimny and the old Vitara.

It is true that Toyota and Suzuki rebadge each other’s models in various markets around the world, with notable examples being the RAV4-based Suzuki Across in Europe, the Baleno-based Toyota Starlet in South Africa, and the Grand Vitara-based Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder in India.

Still, a Land Cruiser-based Suzuki doesn’t sound like something that is ever going to happen. After all, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado already has a twin in the form of the more premium Lexus GX, with Suzuki being traditionally focused on smaller and more affordable SUV segments.

Having said that, Theottle‘s render could serve as an inspiration for independent builds by hardcore fans of Suzuki who want to stand out from the crowd with a fictional one-off SUV flagship.

Besides the Suzuki-branded Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Theottle also worked on its alter-ego. The fictional Toyota-branded Suzuki Jimny was imagined as a small yet capable off-roader ahead of the forthcoming expansion of the Land Cruiser sub-brand.
