The 2024 Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV has gone up for order in the United States and it starts at an eye-watering $179,900.

That’s $75,500 more than the 2023 Mercedes EQS 450+ SUV and that’s kind of insane when you consider the EQE SUV starts at $77,900. It’s also worth mentioning the model will carry a hefty premium over the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ, which will start around $130,000.

So what does $180k get you? An ultra-luxurious electric crossover that is distinguished by an old school hood ornament and a fully enclosed grille with vertical accents. The model also comes equipped with Maybach badging, exclusive 21-inch wheels, and a driver’s door that automatically opens when approaching the vehicle. Customers can also order a two-tone paint job with a filigree pinstripe.

The cabin is the star of the show and it comes equipped with an MBUX Hyperscreen, which consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch front passenger display. Buyers will also find vegetable-tanned Nappa leather, a 15-speaker Burmester 4D surround sound system, and seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. You can also catch a whiff of the exclusive No. 12 Mood Ebony fragrance, which was created specifically for the ultra-luxury flagship.

Customers can get an Executive Rear Seat Package at no extra cost and it sees the rear bench replaced by two individual seats that are separated by a classy console. The latter is pretty noteworthy as it sports heated and cooled cup holders, retractable tables, and a heated armrest. The console also has a refrigerator and an MBUX rear tablet. Passengers will also find two 11.6-inch displays.

Buyers looking for something more exclusive can opt for the $25,000 Maybach Night Series Design Package, which comes bundled with the aforementioned Executive Rear Seat Package. It sees the model outfitted with dark chrome accents, special 21-inch wheels, and “rose gold pins within the headlights.” The package also includes exclusive Black Pearl Nappa leather, dark walnut wood trim with a herringbone pattern, exclusive “garnet glow” active ambient lighting, and special sill plates.

Motivation is provided by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing 649 hp (484 kW / 658 PS) and 700 lb-ft (948 Nm) of torque. This enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.1 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h). The company has also said we can expect a range of 280 miles (451 km).

Other highlights include an Airmatic air suspension and a rear-axle steering system, which enables the rear wheels to turn up to 10 degrees. This allows for improved low speed maneuverability as well as greater high-speed stability.
