• Kia has announced the 2027 Seltos will start at $24,990.
  • That’s an increase of $1,200, but the model has grown in size.
  • Two engines are available at launch, while hybrid will follow.

Kia introduced the redesigned Seltos at the New York Auto Show and now the company has announced pricing will begin at $24,990 before a $1,495 destination fee. That’s an increase of $1,200, but customers will find a larger crossover with best-in-class passenger space.

Kicking things off is the entry-level Seltos LX, which features an upscale design that echoes the larger Telluride and EV9. It features LED headlights, privacy glass, and 16-inch alloy wheels

Moving inside, there’s a digital instrument cluster and a 4.2-inch TFT display. The model also has a 12.3-inch infotainment system and a six-speaker audio system. Rounding out the highlights are air conditioning, manual cloth seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a SynTex-wrapped steering wheel.

A handful of driver assistance systems come standard including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist / Lane Departure Warning, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go. They’re joined by front and rear parking sensors, High Beam Assist, and Intelligent Speed Limit Warning.

Motivation comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine developing 147 hp (110 kW / 149 PS) and 132 lb-ft (179 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an intelligent variable transmission, which sends power to the front wheels. All-wheel drive is also available as a $1,700 option.

Moving up to the $26,390 Seltos S rewards buyers with a fancier exterior that has flush-mounted door handles and larger 18-inch wheels. Buyers will also find a gloss black grille and matching window trim.

The interior largely carries over, but the S adds a 12-way power driver’s seat and a wireless smartphone charger. Other highlights include Blind Spot Collision Avoidance, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, and Safe Exit Warning.

The Seltos EX begins at $28,390 and sports a lightly revised exterior with LED taillights and a power liftgate. Buyers will also find an upgraded interior with SynTex heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and premium sun visors. The model also has a dedicated 5-inch digital climate display.

The $28,990 Seltos X-Line S has a slightly more rugged exterior with unique bumpers, dark gun metal accents, and black trim. All-wheel drive comes standard, but it eschews a power liftgate, climate display, and dual-zone automatic climate control system.

Lastly, there’s the $32,790 Seltos X-Line SX, which is distinguished by fancier headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels. The Kia also comes equipped with solar front glass, a power liftgate, and a panoramic sunroof. Other niceties include a heated steering wheel, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, and a climate display.

More notably, the range-topping variant is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine developing 190 hp (142 kW / 193 PS) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque. It’s paired to a proper eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system.

The regular Seltos is scheduled to arrive at Kia dealers this summer, while the all-new hybrid variant will follow late this year. Pricing for the latter will be announced closer to launch.
