Dodge rolled into Roadkill Nights in Michigan with a stack of new metal, including a run of fresh appearance packages for the Durango and Charger aimed squarely at buyers who want their car to say something on the way past. Sharing the stage with those models are two Charger-based drift cars, built to prove how much the platform can take when someone points it sideways and commits.
The first of several special Durango concepts unveiled is known as the R/T 3982 Smokescreen Concept. It’s finished in a shade of Smokescreen gray contrasted by a Cyro Blue pattern extending from the front of the SUV and across the doors, complete with ‘392’ graphics.

Matching the graphics package are 20×10 Cyro Blue-painted wheels, sitting over a set of Smokescreen brake calipers with Cyro Blue SRT branding. The cabin is perhaps even more audacious than the exterior, sporting Petrol Blue Laguna leather with dual silver stitching and a suede-wrapped steering wheel. Drive comes courtesy of the Durango’s available 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 475 hp and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm). Dodge says it’ll use the concept to glean feedback from fans about customization options for the Durango.
Premiering alongside this concept are the new Tinted Dual Stripes packages, which will soon launch for the Charger and Durango. They use a tinted translucent finish with stripes running from the front all the way to the rear.
Elsewhere, Dodge has announced the 2027 Durango will be available in Redeye paint. It’s also premiered the special Durango GT Hemi Tow ‘n Go, rocking this Redeye paint alongside the new Tinted Dual Stripes and Brass Monkey Package, which includes 20×10 forged Brass Monkey wheels and black fender badging.
The First New-Age Manual Chargers
What’ll perhaps make enthusiasts more excited are a pair of special Sixpack-powered Charger drift cars premiering at the Roadkill Nights event. Created in partnership with Hemmings, both are based on road-going Charger Sixpack models, one known as the Boost Coupe and the other based on the four-door model, badged the RPM or Rapid People Mover.
Both drift cars deliver 750 hp, although they do so a little differently. Whereas the Boost Coupe ditches the 3.0-liter engine’s twin-turbo setup in favor of a single turbo, the four-door RPM retains the two turbos, but upgrades them. Both have also been converted to rear-wheel drive and come fitted with manual transmissions, a first in this generation of Charger.

To ensure the duo performs like legitimate competition drift cars should, they feature unique steering geometry, custom clutches, heavy-duty driveshafts, and new axles and hubs. They also rock hydraulic handbrakes to help drivers perform the perfect drift. Other upgrades include full roll cages, racing seats, racing harnesses, and new MoTeC digital displays.
After premiering at Roadkill Nights, the two drift cars will head to Laguna Seca on September 18-20 and Firebird Motorsports Park’s FuelFest in Arizona on December 5.
