- Lamborghini engineers have been spotted testing a mystery Revuelto prototype.
- Absence of fixed wings and centre-lock wheels suggests it’s a base-model facelift.

Things move fast in the supercar world, in every sense. Competition is hotter than ever and brands like Lamborghini can’t afford to let models sit too long without new content. So while it’s only three years since the VW Group’s most exotic division unveiled the Revuelto, its first ever hybrid, it looks like the brand is already plotting a refresh.
That’s judging from the spy shots that hit our desk this morning, barely a month after Lamborghini debuted the hottest version of the Revuelto yet, the Revuelto SV. Sometimes automakers continue to test disguised prototypes even after the global reveal, fine tuning details before deliveries begin, but these pictures suggest we’re looking at a new base car, not an SV.

Why? This prototype is missing a big rear wing, and it rides on regular five-stud wheels instead of featuring racing-style center-lock hubs. The SV has both of those, plus an ankle-chopping front splitter to help stick it to the pavement on racetracks and twisty roads.
What this camo-covered prototype does have, is a new front bumper with a wider central air intake. We spy the Y-shaped daytime running lights from the SV, too, but our spy photographer reckons they’re stickers designed to throw us off the scent. Shifting to the Revuelto’s musical end, there are changes to the rear bumper and diffuser, but the Y-shaped taillights and high-set exhaust tailpipes retain their current position.
Expect the powertrain tweaks to be equally subtle when Lamborghini pulls the covers back on this new Revuelto, possibly this fall, or early in 2027. The brand has an established routine of bringing out SV versions of its V12 supercars, then updating the stock versions with a little more power, but not so much that they tread on the SV’s toes.
Extra 20 HP A Possibility
The regular Revuelto landed in March 2023, promising 1,001 hp (1,015 PS) from its hybrid-assisted 6.5-liter V12, and that pony count hasn’t budged since. But last month Lamborghini dropped the 1,050 hp (1,065 PS) SV, which leads us to suspect the facelifted base car will get something in the region of a 20 hp (20 PS) boost.
That kind of uplift will be virtually undetectable from behind the wheel of a car that weighs more than 4,000 lbs (1,814 kg) with fluids and already has a four-figure power output. We’d be surprised if the new Reveulto slices off as much as a tenth of a second from the current model’s 2.5-second zero to 62 mph (100 kmh) time. The SV does the trip in 2.4 seconds, but it has stickier rubber. It also tops out at 214 mph (345 kmh) due to the greater drag of its downforce package, while the less powerful Revuelto pushes on to 217 mph (350 kmh)
Bigger Battery But No Manual
One detail the Revuelto could inherit from the SV is its newer 7.3 kWh lithium ion battery pack, which Lambo says “ensures up to four times greater performance consistency” than the 3.8 kWh pack in the standard car. Both cars use two small electric motors on the front axle, leaving the V12 and a third motor in the eight-speed, dual clutch transmission to drive the rear wheels. Unfortunately for stick-shift fans, Lamborghini has no plans to make a manual conversion for its supercars, even though rival Ferrari has already done it. Let’s see how long it takes Sant’Agata to backtrack on that one.
