Some people just don't learn. As if riding your motorcycle on a public highway at speeds of up to 186 miles an hour or 300km/h isn't stupid enough and not to mention downright dangerous, a Canadian biker went ahead and posted the video of his crazy ride on YouTube for everybody and his mother to see…
After being notified about the video posted on YouTube by a user called “Joe Blow” on April 8, Saanich police in British Columbia received several tips from the public and were able to track down the blue Yamaha R1 and its owner, 25-year-old Randy George Scott of Victoria.
The Star Phoenix reported that Scott's mother was identified as the registered owner of the bike and was issued fines totaling $1,449, including $368 for driving without due care and attention, $483 for excessive speed and $598 for not having insurance. The cops also confiscated the Yamaha motorcycle.
Randy George Scott, however, remains on the lam and is now featured on the Saanich Police Department’s “Most Wanted” list.
You can view Scott's dangerous ride in the video that follows below the break.

F**k police, he is my hero anyway
This guy should go to psychiatric hospital!
Some of the most irresponsible riding I've seen, cutting between cars like that going 167 mph, that's beyond reckless. He bounces off the car and loses it, the bike comes a lethal projectile, hits somebody's car and kills their kid, and he'll be going to prison for homicide, if he survives that is, and he'll also have to live with it. Someone dies for the sake of your cheap responsible thrill, that's a lot harder to live with than you might think.
If you're going to do something like this, at least go out on a highway where there is no traffic, even in urban areas you can find major roads that are virtually empty, like late at night on a weekday. I-95 between Fort Lauderdale and Miami is often all but deserted on a Monday night between 2 and 4 AM, I had friends who would go out and open it up on that 10 lane stretch, pegged at 170 mph for 10 miles, and never see a car. Modern sport bikes are really pretty safe at these speeds as long as your bike is maintained and you know how to ride. But it's one thing to risk your own life, it's entirely another to show reckless disregard for the lives of other drivers on the highway, don't do it.
this guy has a death wish
Look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XihQeZpwqpE
Is Russia...
This shit on public roads is NEVER o.k. even if deserted.
You have friends?
Haven't you realized yet that the more democratic and free a country is, the more restrictive the laws are, the more they tell you what to do and what not to do and the more limited are the ways to have fun?
It's the whole 'Make your self internationally famous on You tube' phenomenon.
Actual in this situation, it is a declaration of how stupid you can be.
Poor mother, can't even sell the bike to recover monies lost in fines.
If your going to go fast on a public road, own the road, and even then, if you can't stay in your lane you shouldn't be doing it.
Don't post the video to You Tube unless you have thoroughly neutralized all personal info, and then don't brag about it to your friends.
And if he really thinks he is fast, he needs to line up with 20 other riders on the start grid at the local track... he will no doubt be quickly, instantly, humbled.
That 'Like' was meant to be a 'Reply'.
Democracy has nothing to do with personally restrictive laws. Seven billion people crowded on to ever less amounts of real-estate, and insurance companies, drive the Nanny state.
Denigrating 'Democracy' to serve an unrealistic libertarian agenda, serves no one. Libertarianism is the mentality of little boys who don't want to be told what to do on any level. I agree that we are going to far in a lot of cases, but, right or wrong, 'Democracy' allows you to pro-actively challenge things you don't agree with.
When you no longer have 'Rule by the People' _who have abdicated their responsibility as citizens_ you have rule by corporations.
"The end of Democracy and the Defeat of the American Revolution will
occur when Government falls into the hands of Lending Institutions and
Moneyed incorporation's". _ Thomas Jefferson
I think I can safely say that this is the STUPIDEST thing I have ever seen anyone do. It is an absolute miricle that nobody got hurt or killed. There is truly something wrong in this guys head. I too think he has a death wish and believe he needs a psychiatrist before he does hurt or kill someone. What a MORON!
Yes, it was reckless and stupid, but I'm more interested in how the cops could even prove who's bike it is and who was riding it? Even knowing who posted the video doesn't prove that the poster was the offender, does it?
I completely agree, unbelievable. Please, for the sake of everyone in Canada, take a gun to your head and pull the trigger. At least you won't hurt anyone else. Efing IDIOT!
It actually may be the ability to easily video and post on YouTube that led him to drive like that.
Hero? wow, you got high standards
I have lived almost a third of my life under a communist regime and I was free to do anything I wanted to do without being told what to do and what not except when it came to political agenda. Now I live in something called democracy and by each day I find myself confined to more and more rules and being told by some bureaucrats in Bruxelles what I can and what I'm not allowed to do.
Then I ask, beside being a citizen of the great US of A (as I presume you are), what qualifies you to talk about democracy, western-type freedom and such without knowing both sides of the story? Libertarianism has nothing to do with this and what I have said in the previous post and you mentioning it just proves that you have no clue about the subject.
And after this reply I expect to be bashed for expressing my views in public and hurting someone's feelings ;)
"driving without attention"
That guy if anyone was paying attention to what he was doing. You don't do 186 mph while texting on your phone.
If the video did show him crashing and killing an entire schoolbus of children you could have a reason to be upset but i just see a guy riding a bike.
Admittedly he is driving unnecessary risky and stupid but still, nothing bad happens...this time. Let the bastard crash once and he'll learn.
And so it goes...........
Curious if you were born after 1991?
I assume that you mean Brussels, Belgium, and not the bar in Dublin.
I have been following 'all sides' of the 'Story' since the early fifties.
Expressing your views publicly, you have too expect commentary that may not fit your view of the world, but should give you pause to question or re-analyze what you think you know.
I finally, I made no personal attacks regarding your comment, just another 'informed' opinion.
Shit ...col! Never suspected you of being a cop, Hugh.
How do you feel about texting and cell phone communication while driving. Kills far more people then some yahoo on a sportsbike.
COL! ..Chuckling Out Loud!
Wreckless... And not even new, we had a Black Prince in France (Prince Noir)
Did the speeds up to 280kph back in .... 1989 ! (bikes were not as easy to ride)
http://youtu.be/zUNJdefgyH8
This - as any other internet argument - will end up nowhere, but "following 'all sides' all sides of the 'Story' " is kinda different from living under both communism and capitalism - ie oppression and freedom in our case.
"Expressing your views publicly, you have too expect commentary that may
not fit your view of the world, but should give you pause to question or
re-analyze what you think you know."
That goes both ways, you realize that, right?
And I was born in the 70s and I mean Bruxelles as in the capital of the European Union.
One doesn't have to live in a situation to understand the situation, but you do have the nuance of your particular situation, and your world view is partially colored as a result of your particular experience.
Reg; "communism and capitalism - ie oppression and freedom in our case." Ah! A contradiction in the context of your 'original' assertion. In addition... 'Capitalism' is not Democracy nor is it a tenet of Democracy.
And communism isn't bad as we were all communists originally and it worked very well. Modern communism as corrupted by the Communist states of the world and is/was an abomination of the human spirit and purpose. Democracy is now verging on that situation, but then the founding fathers of the US would not recognize our current government as true Democracy and they wouldn't blame the politicians and corporations.
"That goes both ways, you realize that, right?" You really felt you needed to make that comment.
Getting back to the origin of this exchange, you original comment expressed 'Libertarian' philosophy/views... whether you know that or not..apparently not. That is what I commented on.
And 'Bruxelles' is just French for Brussels, another unnecessary comment on a comment that I was using to tone down your perceived personal offense by me with a little play on humor. I guess we should meet at Bruxelle's in Dublin and have a go at arm wrestling while swilling and spilling beer.
I don't mean to offend, only to educate and dispels myths and questionable notions. It is too bad that some take offense to what is offered and not use it. If you live in a world where you have to rub every itch, your going to close a lot of doors of opportunity.
My native language is french and I'm living in a country where I speak a romance language, so it's Bruxelles.
Anyway, you win at internets! Congrats!
Am I the only one who thinks 1449 dollar is really cheap for speeding at speeds up to 300km/h in busy traffic? Seriously.... I personally would accept that kind of fine and brush it off because it's so little, but I did hear about a possible 5 year jail term, which is another story.
Just because the highway looks empty does not mean that anther car , truck or motorcycle could come on the same highway from a on ramp. Please don't ever suggest to anyone to find a empty highway to drive like this.
According to the news, the police think they know who it is. I don't know how but they were throwing around a name. I'm sure they're not only going by the video but have other leads too. I hope they get him.
I'm just dealing with reality. The vast majority of young men who spend $10,000 + on a serious sport bikes do so for one reason, they like speed. So if you've got a 200 hp motorcycle that is capable of reaching 100 mph in 5 seconds, blowing the doors off million-dollar supercars, can outrun police helicopters and planes, and you're a 20-year-old kid, odds are you're going to explore the potential of that bike at some point. Legalities not withstanding, there are responsible ways to do that and there are irresponsible ways, better that young riders learn to do it in a responsible manner, as opposed to just giving in to temptation on a crowded highway like this and maybe getting themselves or someone else killed. The fact that this rider had a camera running suggests that he had every intent of doing what he did, as do most people who speed in this fashion.
Just because something like exceeding a certain speed limit is illegal, on this continent, doesn't make it wrong, or immoral, or any more dangerous than going below that limit, if you are capable, prepared and smart about it. People regularly drive over 200 mph on the autobahn in Germany In traffic and it's a pretty orderly society. There are many highways across America which are comparable to the Audubon, and all things being equal it's no more dangerous going the same speed on them.
There is of course a simple way to stop people from speeding which could be implemented by manufacturers tomorrow, every vehicle could be equipped with an electronic limiter, preventing them from going over 75 mph. Anybody here think that the car or motorcycle industry would have any success selling such vehicles? They wouldn't, and if the government tried it, all it would do is create a mass demand for used vehicles without such limiters. For many people, speed is synonymous with freedom, and people like their freedom, but there is no freedom without responsibility and accountability. This is one of the primary problems in the Western, our inability to get our head around this as a society.
In my opinion too many people believe that laws and rules and external forces can control people's behavior, when in reality such controls can only come from within an individual. Human beings control themselves, we all have to learn to control ourselves, those who can't in any society, either wind up in prison, a hospital or dead, usually after they've done a whole lot of harm to a lot of other people.
Personally I think everybody who wants to operate motor vehicles, cars, motorcycle, boat whenever needs to be properly trained, go to school, learn how to control yourself and your vehicle, human beings respond very well to training. Just doing that would go a long ways towards preventing the tens of thousands of deaths we see on our highways every year. But it's easier to put a sign by the road that says speed limit, it's easier to hand someone a book and give them the option of opening it and learning or not, that in of itself is an abdication of responsibility, a fundamental disrespect for the privilege of living in a free society. But I digress.
Then I wish this guy crashes into your mother or girlfriend and mangle the shit out of them... then you can worship him even more.
this guys been playing Lane Splitter on his mobile phone too much
Whether you have a car or motorcycle, go to track day and spend around $150 to $200 and itch your need for speed in a controlled atmosphere.
Glad to see that CARSCOOP reposted Aaron's comments...kudos to CARSCOOP
That is a 'Like' Aaron..well said.
You have been rebuffed by the aaronbbrown/Really! cadre. Fast fingers motivated by a life of judging everyone else and accomplishing nothing.
Oh! Realy!
Who is assuming and being 'Judgmental'?
Oh! Come on Hugh, point out the 'judgmental' comments where it is not
'in kind'. I'm speaking for myself not Mr. Brown. You seem to be a
smart guy so this seems a little pathetic, disappointing, and hopefully,
out of character.
As I stand at my antique service desk writing this while looking over at
my next project that I just took possession of yesterday, I have to
wonder how anyone can assume and 'Judge' something about someone they
don't know.
Just so you have a little bit more info about me and my accomplishments
or lack thereof, since Jan One, 2012, I have completed the conversion of
my 328is with a M5 drive train.
I have designed and modeled/molded for casting a three deuce(carb)
manifold for a Cadillac Flathead V-8, the worlds first. The first rough
casting now sits in my machine shop waiting for finish machining.
I have completed my hand built Lotus Seven based, LS powered sports
car. And along the way, in my spare time, I have designed and directed
the construction and completion of two Habitat for Humanity Homes. And I
still have five & half more months in this year to 'accomplish' my next
project(s) and build another house.
My next gearhead project... Taking a 61' Oldsmobile 4-dr hardtop and
cutting the top off then taking 33" out of the body and frame, while
losing 2 doors to create a short sporty 2-dr convertible with only the
front seats. A vehicle like this is called a Phantom, because the
factory never made one, and it is not my first. My last one was a 49'
Chevy 'El Camino' pick-up or as our Aussie brothers call them a Ute. My
first one was a short roof 55' Chevy station wagon, built some forty
years ago now.
From my very first Gearhead project a 40' Ford Hot Rod Coupe built with my best friend, started when we were 14 years old, to Carson topped Fords, to multiply roadsters and engine conversions, to drag and road race cars, restorations and bikes, my life has been full of projects completed with more planned.
Out of curiosity, so I don't assume anything, what projects or
accomplishments have you managed lately or at anytime Hugh. As a fellow
gearhead, I would really like to know
This should be conversation about our passion for cars not, making snide comments and denigrating fellow Scoopers.
Very funny, I see that you think bullshit baffles brains.
Wow you sure are a busy beaver. My greatest achievment is my Hudson Hornet hotrod......I installed a necking knob on the steering wheel, cut a hole in the muffler and wallpapered the interior.
This rider has a serious death wish. All it would have took was one cager to slightly start to change lanes and clip him. He would of met his maker real fast. Cant see this guy living much longer if he continues to ride like that.
Odds are this kid will be another statistic. I just hope the police can find him before he kills somebody.
