After killing some cones in an old Ford Sierra, in Hungary, Ken Block goes much further east, in order to shoot a promo clip for action camera manufacturers GoPro, who call themselves the makers of “the world’s most versatile camera.” The aim of the video was for Block to “kill” as many cameras as he could, while driving his custom rally Ford Focus through the frozen woods of Russia.

His car also comes equipped with plenty of GoPro HD Hero 2 cameras, both inside and out, and we get to see him doing his thing from many different angles and with lots of cool effects, like transitioning the image from one camera to another, seamlessly, if they are placed alongside. More are placed along his route, and at one point, there’s even a set of cameras stuck into the snow, which Block is supposed to hit with his outer rear tire as he drifts around the corner.

In the end, this is Mr. Block doing what he does best, and the latest camera technology enables us to enjoy his work just a little bit more. Also, right at the end of the video, one of the locals kicks the rear bumper of the rally Focus, making it fall off and break – apparently, people didn’t much care for all that noise and fooling around…
