A number of Land Rover Discovery 4 SUVs are being recalled in Australia for a frightening reason; the glass roof could detach!

The recall states that, on certain cars the primer used to attach the panoramic glass roof to the roof assembly may not be strong enough. If the primer were to fail, the glass roof could fly off and potentially damage other vehicles on the road, inevitably increasing the risk of a crash.

No exact figures have been released about just how many models are affected by the recall, but based on the VIN range provided of Discovery 4 models impacted, it seems as though almost 5,300 units are at risk.

Jaguar Land Rover Australia hasn’t announced how it intends to fix the problem, but simply removing the glass panel and re-attaching it with the correct primer seems the most logical course of action.

As far as recalls go, this is certainly one of the craziest we’ve come across.
