Volvo Details S90's Premium Sound System

Bowers & Wilkins is a name well known in the automotive industry as the company's hardware is used on numerous vehicles.

One of them is the new generation Volvo S90, which was officially presented in late 2015. The automaker's flagship sedan is equipped with a total of 19 speakers, including 7 Nautilus tweeters, 7 midrange speakers, 4 woofers and a 250mm fresh air subwoofer that work together with a Class D 12--channel amplifier.

Sound engineers developed a unique room transformation technology with Dirac Research's Swedish audio software specialist, which recreates the acoustics of a specific room inside the car in three different modes.

These include "Studio", for dry precise listening, "Individual Stage" that allows users to control the acoustics and create their own sound using the center display and "Gothenburg Concert Hall", which is able to recreate the acoustic experience of the legendary concert hall.

The Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system is available as an option on the 2016 Volvo S90, along with numerous features that include the four-zone electronic climate control, Apple CarPlay, Digital Audio Broadcasting, Digital TV, HUD, Sensus navigation system and Volvo On Call.
