Citroen and Rip Curl, a “legendary brand from the world of surfing“, have joined forces to create a special edition of the C4 Cactus.

The model, dubbed C4 Cactus Rip Curl, benefits from enhanced traction with the Grip Control system, which is associated with the more powerful engines such as PureTech 110 S&S and BlueHDi 100, each mated to a manual transmission.

Grip Control uses advanced anti-skid function built into the ESP computer, available with five operating modes: Standard, Sand, Off-Road, Snow and ESP Off. Each of the last four modes can be operated up to a pre-set speed limit and if the driver pushes the throttle beyond that, it switches back to “Standard”.

Setting the Citroen C4 Cactus Rip Curl Special Edition apart from the standard model are white side mirror caps, roof-bars and vertical strip on the wings, Rip Curl logo, different graphics, front and rear aluminum-colored protection plates and special Goodyear 205/50 R17 Vector 4Seasons M&S tires.

The cabin has orange detailing, standard Mica Grey fabric seats or optional black part-leather upholstery, orange seatbelts, protective floor mats with orange stitching and Rip Curl logo and loudspeakers finished in orange flourish.

Based on the C4 Cactus Flair trim, the special edition has standard automatic climate control, rear parking sensors and camera, automatic headlights and wipers, navi, 6-speaker MP3 audio, cruise control, tinted windows and panoramic glass roof. Exterior colors available at launch include Obsidian Black, Sport Red, Arctic Steel, Tapenade Grey and Pearl White, but by the end of the year, a new unique body color will be offered.

The compact vehicle will premiere in a few days in Geneva and go on sale in the first half of 2016.
