Pininfarina won’t be the only Italian coachbuilder and designer at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, as Italdesign Giugiaro also announced its presence with a teaser.

Yes, the Volkswagen Group-owned company apparently signaled its attendance through and a world premiere through monotonous image that doesn’t reveal much. But before we save the date (March 1st, 2016) we’ll try and decipher what can the prestigious company will bring to the table.

It will undoubtedly be a full-blown concept car – the radical kind, specific to the designer – most likely previewing a vision of the future automotive industry. Judging by the Italian “tricolore” depicted, the vehicle could be mean a “return to the roots”-style project, carrying a more classical design form than Giugiaro’s lastest projects. Nevertheless, we’ll have to wait until March 1st to see what the design studio has installed for us.

In May 2010, Audi’s subsidiary, Lamborghini, has acquired 90.1% of Italdesign for an undisclosed price, with Giorgetto Guigiaro retaining the rest of the shares. In 2015 however, the famous designer left the company and sold the remaining shares to Audi.
