This teaser image confirms that Pininfarina is up and running again, gearing up something really special for Geneva.

Due to Pininfarina’s financial turmoil, the Italian coachbuilder has not presented a proper, eye-catching prototype/show-car project since 2013. Back then, a dramatic looking machine, named simply as Sergio – in order to commemorate the company’s founder – was making waves at the 83rd Geneva Motor Show.

Fast forward today, after Mahindra acquired 76-percent of the Italian design house for a cool $28 million, and the company just teased an upcoming concept car, scheduled to debut at the Swiss motoring event, on March 1st.

Although the picture doesn’t reveal much, the vehicle’s sharp front end seems reminiscent of the Sergio design study and its production-spec counterpart, the Ferrari Sergio. Still, the caption mentioned a new and exciting concept car, so we’re expecting something more than the aforementioned prototype with subtle design changes and a new paint scheme.

One thing is for certain, this automobile will mark a new era for the automotive car designer and coachbuilder.
