Porsche 911 GT3 Looks To Put Audi RS7 In Its Place
Even though the Audi RS7 has held its own against plenty of formidable foes in a straight line, when it comes to supercars, it's always the lighter ones that "get you" in the end.
The 560 PS Audi RS7 is a tough car to out-run, regardless of whether you're doing a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint or a 50-250 km/h (155 mph) run. It's got plenty of torque at 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) and is already capable of reaching 100 km/h in under 4 seconds, or 3.9 to be precise.
In the past, we've seen it kick a lot of behinds on the runway, including against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG and the already famous Tesla Model S P85D and its Insane way of accelerating.
The thing is, those cars were saloons and carried a lot of weight around, which is not something you can say about a Porsche 911. In this case, we're looking at a (991) GT3 which packs 475 PS to go with its 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) - able to hit 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds before maxing out at 315 km/h (195 mph).
Of course, since everything comes down to weight, we can't ignore the fact that the RS7 hauls 2,005 kg (4,420 lbs) around permanently, while the 911 GT3 only weighs 1,505 kg (3,317 lbs). That's a 500 kg (1,102 lbs) difference! In order to make this a fair fight, the Porsche would need to strap a fully-grown Bull Shark on top, which is to say you probably shouldn't put your money on the Audi when witnessing such a duel.
And no, if this was the RS7 Performance instead of the regular model, it wouldn't have changed much.
