| |

With different wheel patterns and cabin trim details, Toyota has launched the updated Verso in the United Kingdom, where it's priced from £18,120 (equivalent to $25,990).

Joining the lineup alongside the Active, Icon and Excel specifications and replacing the Trend and Trend Plus, is a new trim level, called Design. It slots between the Icon and Excel range-topper and starts from £23,405 ($33,570) with the 1.8-liter Valvematic gasoline engine, mated to an automatic gearbox, while the 1.6-liter D-4D diesel costs £23,250 ($33,350).

Standard features found on the Design include Toyota Touch 2 with Go multimedia with sat-nav, rearview camera, fixed panoramic roof and rear privacy glass, on top of the features available on the Icon, such as DAB tuner, automatic air-con, six-speaker audio and automatic headlights.

At the top of the range sits the Excel, with its leather and cloth combination upholstery, panoramic roof, auto-dimming rearview mirror and high-intensity discharge headlights. Toyota claims the Icon, Design and Excel can be specified with optional family pack that provides leather upholstery for the first and second row of seats and two rear seatback screens with integrated DVD players, for an extra £1,995 ($2,860).

Other changes performed for the 2016 MY include 16-inch wheels for the Icon, 17-inch for Design and 17-inch with Anthracite dark grey finish and double-spoke arrangement for Excel, joined by a new Platinum Bronze shade, while the tire repair kit, equipped on demand, has been relocated to the underfloor storage compartment, to free more boot space.

On top of these, all versions of the MPV have been upgraded with the Toyota Safety Sense, with Pre-Collision System, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Automatic High Beam and Lane Departure Alert.
