The latest M model to assume the role of the MotoGP Safety Car will appear at Qatar Grand Prix, held at the Losail International Circuit in Doha.

Built at the BMW M factory in Garching, this M2 was modified, optimized and prepared by hand and is equipped the car with tailor-made solutions and mandatory safety features, as well as extensive BMW M Performance parts.

Apart from the eye-catching appearance, these mods contribute to optimizing aerodynamics, cooling and weight – distinct racing genes which provide the ideal basis for a MotoGP safety car. The 3.0-litre M Twin-Power Turbo engine was kept stock, mainly because the rev-happy, 370 PS (365 HP) was deemed fit for purpose as it is.

The M2 joins the official MotoGP fleet that includes a total of six different BMW M and BMW M performance models, including the M4 Coupe with water injection and the X5 M. Completing the fleet are two S 1000 RRs motorcycles.
