Compared to the 2016 model, the new Accord Hybrid is more powerful, more fuel-efficient, features new styling, sportier driving and the latest in advanced safety tech.

The 2017 Accord Hybrid is available in three trim levels (Hybrid, Hybrid EX-L & Hybrid Touring), all boasting increased levels of standard and optional equipment, which includes Honda Sensing (standard on all models) and the company’s newest Display Audio touchscreen interface featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

“The Accord Hybrid is the ultimate Accord, offering exceptional dynamic qualities with the greatest technological sophistication and fuel efficiency in the Accord family,” said Jeff Conrad, Senior VP & GM of American Honda Motor Co. “Consumers have made Accord America’s top selling midsize sedan, recognizing its unique combination of performance, value, efficiency and refinement, and the 2017 Accord Hybrid ups the game in each of these traits.”

Further new features for the 2017 Accord Hybrid include remote engine start, front/rear parking sensors, rain sensing wipers, heated rear seats and auto high-beam headlights – depending on model and trim, of course. The Multi-Angle Rearview Camera with dynamic guidelines is also standard, while the Touring trim adds automatic high-beam headlights for improved nighttime visibility.

Outside, the hybrid-exclusive design features include the special aluminum hood and the unique alloy wheels, together with blue highlighted LED headlights and taillights and special exterior badging. Also, the more compact hybrid battery pack increases trunk capacity to what Honda are claiming is now a class-leading 13.5 cu-ft (382 liters).

Performance-wise, the Accord’s hybrid powertrain has a peak output (combined) of 212 HP, which the Japanese automaker says is the highest of any rivaling midsize sedan. At the same time, EPA fuel economy ratings of 49/47/48 (city/highway/combined) put the Accord Hybrid at the top of its class. In terms of liters per 100 km, those ratings would read 4.8/5.0/4.9.

Thanks to its advanced body structure, standard safety equipment and driver-assist features, Honda are expecting the 2017 Accord Hybrid to ace all of its safety rating tests, earning the full 5 stars from the NHTSA to go with the Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS.
